Universal Studios, Florida #SuperNintendoWorldisnotopenthere!

Recently, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It was an unforgettable experience. First, let me start by saying they didn't clarify that Super Nintendo World is not in Florida. The good news is it will be open next summer in a whole new park at Universal Orlando. My family and I had a wonderful time on this trip regardless.

From thrilling rides to delectable dining options, this renowned theme park truly lives up to its reputation. In this travel review, I will highlight the best rides to visit, the top places to eat, as well as the peak and off-peak travel times. Additionally, I'll reveal some insights into the cheapest dates to plan your visit.

Best Rides to Visit:

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: This immersive land features two exceptional rides, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Escape from Gringotts. Both offer a mind-blowing combination of cutting-edge technology and storytelling that transports you into the enchanting world of Harry Potter. This area gets very busy, so if you're not purchasing their fast pass, be ready to stand in line. Part of the experience, in my opinion, is the wait in line and building up that anticipation for the ride. There is so much to see they paid close attention to the books and movies. So many little details.

Transformers: For any Transformers fan, this 3D ride is amazing. Too bad they didn't expand this area and add other Transformers rides, but this ride alone is worth the wait in line. Throughout the day you may even get to take a picture with a 10-foot transformer.

Fast and Furious: Let's see how many times Dom can say "family" should be the ride's name. Seriously though very fun moving theater ride.

King Kong: if you remember the classic Kong ride, there will be some nostalgia on this ride. It is 3D meets ride, a Universal special. There is a lot to see in the lines going to the ride itself. Lots of detail, warning though if you don't like tight spaces the line may present a problem for you. You can wait in the front of the line for the rest of your party if its too much. Just say "excuse me coming through"

Revenge of the Mummy: Prepare for an exhilarating adventure through ancient Egyptian ruins filled with special effects, thrilling drops, and unexpected surprises. This indoor roller coaster is a fan favorite for its heart-pounding excitement. This is an oldie but a goodie. It was as good as I remembered it.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: Experience the web-slinging action alongside Spider-Man as you battle villains in a 3D high-definition thrill ride. The innovative technology and captivating storyline make it a must-see attraction for Marvel enthusiasts. Easily one of my favorite attractions. If you are a big Marvel fan, there are a lot of cool items to buy in the gift shops.

Best Places to Eat:

The Leaky Cauldron: Located in Diagon Alley, this iconic restaurant serves delicious British fare inspired by the Harry Potter series. Indulge in traditional favorites like fish and chips or shepherd's pie while immersing yourself in the magical ambiance.

Mythos Restaurant: Situated in Islands of Adventure, this award-winning restaurant offers a stunning setting with waterfalls and caverns. Enjoy a diverse menu featuring Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including seafood, pasta, and vegetarian options.

Lombard's Seafood Grille: For seafood lovers, this charming waterfront eatery is a must-visit. Located in Universal Studios, it offers a variety of fresh seafood dishes in a classic, elegant setting

Peak and Off-Peak Travel Times: Peak Travel Time: Universal Studios Orlando experiences the highest crowds during summer (June to August) and major holidays like Christmas and spring break. Expect longer wait times for rides and crowded areas throughout the park. Off-Peak Travel Time: If you prefer fewer crowds, consider visiting during weekdays in September, January, or February. The weather is still enjoyable, and lines for attractions are typically shorter, allowing you to maximize your time at the park. Cheapest Dates to Visit: To secure the best deals and potentially save money on your trip, consider visiting Universal Studios Orlando during the off-peak seasons mentioned earlier. Additionally, weekdays outside of holidays tend to have lower prices compared to weekends. It's also worth exploring the Universal Orlando website for any ongoing promotions or special offers. Booking in advance and being flexible with your travel dates can help you find the most budget-friendly options.

Tips: When Visiting Universal you have many options in regards to tickets. If you would like to go to both parks (soon to be three) on the same day, then you would most likely benefit from park hopper tickets. These are more expensive but you can bop between both parks and ride your favorite rides, bonus you can take the Hogwarts Express between the two parks. Without the hopper tickets, you can not ride the train. You do not need to schedule your days but tickets are specific to date range and prices also vary depending on days traveling.

Parking fees are good for an entire day, so if you want to leave for a while and come back keep those receipts. It cost around $25 a day to park. You will park in the parking Garage outside of City Walk. City Walk has many restaurants, stores, and things to do. You can easily spend the whole day and evening at Universal.

Places to stay depending on your budget and whether you are driving or not will play a huge factor in where you want to stay. If you want ease and convenience, staying on property at one of their affiliated hotels is best. It's right there you have a shuttle that takes you to and from the hotel to City Walk. It is the most costly option as well. If you to stay away from the hustle and bustle Air BnB is a great option there are tons of places to stay on every budget, the only downside is you will need a car. Uber is an option, be prepared for the price surges.

Conclusion: Universal Studios Orlando is a haven for thrill-seekers, movie enthusiasts, and food lovers alike. With its thrilling rides, immersive experiences, and delectable dining options, this theme park truly offers something for everyone. Plan your visit during the off-peak season and take advantage of the less crowded periods to make the most of your time. From the magical world of Harry Potter to the adrenaline-pumping roller coasters, Universal Studios Orlando is a destination that will leave you with lasting memories.

About Me

As a boy , I often wondered what it would be like to go far away. To see the world and go new places. I moved around a lot growing up but never went on vacations. When I was old enough to work, the first thing I wanted to do was travel. At 18, I saved up some money and booked my first trip. I have been traveling ever since.

Fast forward my wife, and now our children love to go on new adventures. My mission for this website is to share everyone , that trips and getting away doesn't mean going into debt and living above your means. We are a simple family , with limited means, that prioritize traveling and family time over keeping up with "The Jones" or buying stuff. Buying Stuff and The Jones life won't make you happy. Family trips, will give you memories to cherish for years to come.

My family and I love to get in the car and get lost, there so much to see in this world. We love to get out  there and see something new, try somewhere new, eat something new. I hope that I can impart a few of my travel hacks on you. Keep in mind I am not perfect, neither is this website. If you see a typo, laugh. Take my bad jokes as your own. Feel free to ask me questions. Send me a message. Don't be afraid of going to new places. Get out there and make new memories with your family.
